Governing Body

Located in the Diocese of Sale, Catholic College Sale holds a special and unique place within the wider DOSCEL family.

The College is governed by Catholic College Sale Limited, reflecting its strong and enduring partnership with the Marist-Sion traditions, while remaining deeply connected to diocesan life and mission.

It is not governed directly by Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited.

Since July 2022, the College has been guided by a dedicated College Board that acts on behalf of its governing members, the Bishop of Sale and the Marist Provincial, working together to support the College’s Catholic identity, strategic direction, and long-term sustainability.

Principal Brett Van Berkel

Under the leadership of Principal Mr Brett Van Berkel, Catholic College Sale is a co-educational Catholic secondary College for students in Years 7–12, proudly serving young people and families across the Gippsland region.

With a rich history spanning more than 130 years, the College’s story is shaped by the legacy of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion (1890) and the Marist Brothers (1922) and joined together in 1977 as Our Lady of Sion College and St Patrick’s College.

Catholic College Sale works closely with its network of Catholic primary schools and parishes, welcoming students and supporting families as they journey together in faith and learning.
