Foundation Principal appointed to lead new St Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary School at Clyde

The foundation principal to lead a new Catholic primary school currently under construction in Clyde has been announced as Mrs Michelle Bruitzman.

Mrs Bruitzman, who is currently principal of St Agatha’s Catholic Primary School, Cranbourne, will assume her new principalship in July for the commencement of Term 3, 2026, in preparation of the school’s planned opening in Term 1, 2027.

Michelle has spent 32 years in Catholic education, including the past four years as Principal of St Agatha’s Catholic Primary School, Cranbourne.

“I’m looking forward to building a safe, inclusive, Catholic school community, with a strong learning agenda, inspired by the charism of Saint Carlo Acutis,” Mrs Bruitzman said.

“It is a great privilege to serve as the founding Principal, and I look forward with genuine excitement to beginning this journey with our future students, families and parish.”

Mr Paul Velten, Executive Director of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL), congratulated Mrs Bruitzman on her appointment.

“Michelle is an outstanding school principal who brings a strong vision for enriching faith-based education and advancing learning outcomes for all students. Her leadership will establish a solid and positive foundation for the school community.

As Foundation Principal, Michelle will support the work of establishing and opening the new school and building relationships with future school and parish families.

Located at 121 Bellavita Avenue Clyde, the new St Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary School Stage 1 development is planned to open for Term 1, 2027.
